How Do We Grow as Disciples Who Make Disciples?

Discipleship is lifelong, not something you complete once, but a cycle you walk through again and again. Depending on your season of life, God may lead you to reconnect, grow in a new way, or step out to serve.

  • Connect

Jesus tells us in Mark 12:30–31 to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love our neighbor as ourselves. Connection begins with worship: We prioritize gathering each Sunday because we grow stronger when we worship together. It continues as we join groups, study God’s Word, pray for one another, and serve alongside each other. Membership is a key part of this step, as we commit to the life and mission of a local church family.

  • Grow

In Colossians 1:9–10, Paul prays that believers would be filled with the knowledge of God’s will so they can walk worthy of the Lord, bearing fruit and growing in their knowledge of Him. Growth happens through prayer, reading Scripture, and walking alongside other believers. It also happens as we use the gifts God has given us, live generously, and take steps of obedience. Growth isn’t about being perfect but about becoming more like Jesus over time.

  • Go

In Acts 1:8, Jesus tells His followers that they will receive power through the Holy Spirit to be His witnesses, nearby and to the ends of the earth. As we connect and grow, God calls us to go and share His love with others, whether through global missions or loving and serving the people right in front of us. And as we go, it leads us back into deeper connection and growth. That’s why this pathway never ends: we keep connecting, growing, and going throughout our lives as disciples.

Consider Baptism

Baptism is a joyful celebration of new life in Jesus and an important step of obedience as we follow Him. Baptism Class is the place to learn what the Bible teaches, ask questions, and consider whether you’re ready to take this step.

The final step toward membership or baptism is our Faith Story Class, a chance to reflect on how Jesus has worked in your life and share your testimony with a Berean Elder or Pastor. After attending Membership or Baptism Class, you’ll receive a link to register for Faith Story Class, which typically takes place one to two weeks later.
